Solutions with Mama - Spring 2019
Biblical Principles for Emotional Healing
Solutions is based on Luke 4:18 - The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me [i]to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed. When applied to our lives, this scripture lives results in emotional and spiritual wholeness. During the class, we look at past wounding, our sinful responses to the wounding, and how those responses hold us in captivity. Defining the problem is important, but that is not curative. Solutions goes a step further to bring real healing through the Cross of Jesus by praying healing prayers. This course is not just a self-help course that you go through and then go on to the next thing. The Solutions principles are life-long and provide tools needed to experience Abundant Life in our relationships with the Lord and with others. Come and join us!
Barbara Ward Stephens is affectionately known as "Mama Hug." She is a great-grandmother whose life's work has been to help mend broken hearts.
Mama Hug knows the pain of soul wounds herself. Suffering many kinds of abuse, having a learning disability, experiencing emotional abandonment and rejection, she can relate to others' pain.
The Lord gave Mama Hug a revelation of Luke 4:18 as His mission statement. This scripture became the foundation of her counseling ministry, and later the course Solutions, as well as Healing the Wounded.
Mama Hug is from Birmingham, Alabama where she taught the good news of Luke 4:18 in churches of every denomination.
In 1996, she relocated to Pensacola, Florida to become Pastor of Counseling and Pastoral Care at Liberty Church. From 2000 until 2006, Mama Hug was a professor at Brownsville Revival School of Ministry.
